Our mission is to show the world that Japan is a society where people from all over the world can live authentically and comfortably as themselves. To achieve this, we provide content that helps foreign visitors and residents explore the joys of Japan, whether they are new arrivals, or have been here for years.
Our team is made up of an international group of both foreigners living in Japan and Japanese nationals, all of whom have personal experience and deep knowledge of life in Japan. They leverage this experience and expertise to create easy-to-understand content from the perspective of anyone who wants to know more about this beautiful country.
We believe Japan is one of the most exciting and appealing countries in the world to live in. Nevertheless, there are many challenges for foreigners when it comes to relocating here. We don’t want people who have come to Japan because they have loved it from afar to feel disappointed.
JoynTokyo supports anyone who has come to Japan with dreams and hopes of a joyous life, and helps them to live as comfortably and happily as possible.
Helpful Resources
Our content provides useful information for people living in Japan. Our categories for enhancing the experience of residents new and long-term include Move, Study, Work, House, Family, and other topics related to daily life. Our articles address the issues and questions that foreign residents and visitors may face, sharing information that has previously only been accessible to Japanese people in English.
Our team is a diverse group of foreign residents and Japanese citizens, forming an unrivaled knowledge base. We create content from a foreigner’s perspective, focusing on the inconveniences and opportunities that you will encounter in daily life, and the information that would be beneficial for your life in Japan.
With the goal of “revealing the charms of Japan,” I established JoynTokyo to promote the truth that Japan is a society where people from around the world can live authentically and comfortably.
Chief Writer / Editor
I am originally from the UK and have lived in Japan for over seven years. I have worked at Japanese businesses, volunteered for Japanese charities, and love my local community. I want to help people from around the world enjoy Japan to its fullest, as I do!
Developer
I moved to Japan in 2024 after enrolling in The Naganuma School, to learn the language. During my studies at a Japanese language school, I was also working part time at a Japanese marketing company, where I was in charge of web development and SEO marketing. I hope to connect with and help people with similar experiences.
Designer
I’m a UX/UI designer based in Tokyo. I am Vietnamese, and I have been living in Japan for three years and love exploring the local culture, neighborhoods, and coffee spots. On weekends, I travel around Japan and share fun things to do with my friends. I studied business at Tokyo International University, and now work at a Japanese marketing company. I also enjoy writing about life and design in Japan.
